Emotional Intelligence

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE presents a huge growth opportunity because unlike our intelligence which is genetically fixed, we can ALL grow our EQ (Emotional Quotient, measurement of Emotional Intelligence).

During this workshop we will focus on two of the four core personal competence skills as defined by Travis Bradberry and Jean Greaves in “Emotional Intelligence 2.0” which are

  1. Self-Awareness
  2. Self-Management

The Personal Competence factor of Self-Awareness refers to a person’s ability to recognize and emotion.  With just over one-third of people being able to correctly identify an emotion, two-thirds of us are held hostage to emotions we do not understand, and which influence and cause our outward behavior.

As defined by Travis Bradberry and Jean Greaves, Self-Management is the ability to manage your emotional reactions to situations and people.  It is the ability to manage impulses and quick responses.
