Mike Nasche is the new Director of Veteran Relations

MNascheImpact a Hero (IAH), a leading 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to assisting severely wounded combat veterans to live exceptional and purposeful lives, has announced Mike Nasche as its Director of Veteran Relations effective Feb 1, 2016.

Mike is a Service Connected Disabled Veteran, a combat Veteran of Iraq, and he served on the IAH Board of Directors for the past year. In addition to his sixteen years of honorable military service as an Airborne Infantryman, Mike successfully transitioned from Active Duty to Civilian life, but it didn’t come without struggles. “It is his story of overcoming those struggles, his contagious enthusiasm, and his ability and desire to help others do the same that help make Mike the right person for this job.”, said Dan Sullenbarger, Chairman, IAH Board of Directors.

In 2014, Mike testified as an expert witness before a Congressional Sub-Committee in Washington D.C. focused on Veteran reintegration to the business sector after their military service. In his testimony he gave specific examples of the trials Veterans encounter and how businesses can do more to bridge the gap for transitioning service members. After his testimony, Mike met personally with US Representatives Bill Flores (TX), Markwayne Mullin (OK) and Kevin Cramer (ND), as well as US Senators John Walsh (MT) and Jon Tester (MT) to discuss specific issues that continue to plague Veterans in transition.

Mike is driven by his passion to support Veterans, especially wounded Veterans. Over the last decade his efforts resulted in him being awarded the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal. Mike also served as the Chairman of the Veterans Resource Group at Baker Hughes Inc. (BHI), where he helped the company become the third most Veteran friendly company in the nation and helped raise more than $150,000 that was then donated to help Veterans in need. Also, during Mike’s time there, BHI was nominated for Best Outreach Program by the Prestigious World Oil Awards.

“Impact a Hero has been doing an excellent job of making a difference in the lives of Veterans for more than a decade, and the future looks even brighter.” stated Mike. “I’m excited about the legacy of support and caring that my predecessors established and am thrilled of the direction we are headed. Our Vision and Mission inspire me, and I’m so honored that the Board of Directors have chosen me to be their ‘hands and feet’, to serve my brothers and sisters all across this great nation. I want to help Veterans overcome the obstacles that are in the way of achieving their goals. I want to help Veterans find purpose and meaning in their lives after they hang up their uniform. I want to inspire them to avoid this idea of victimization, and, instead, chase exceptionalism.”

Mike will be an Impact A Hero Ambassador to thousands of combat veterans all over the country. Feel free to contact him at and learn more at www.ImpactaHero.org
