Impact A Hero Hires New Director of Operations
HOUSTON, TX, – February 1, 2018 – Impact a Hero (IAH), a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to assisting wounded and disabled combat veterans to live exceptional and purposeful lives, has hired Ryan Avila to fill the newly created Director of Operations position.
“Ryan is an outstanding Army Officer with impressive civilian work experience in project management; these qualities, along with his passion for empowering veterans and serving make him an obvious fit for this new role,” said IAH Executive Director Mike Nasche. “Impact a Hero is growing fast, we’re adding new programs, and striving to make an even bigger impact in our community, we need incredible people on our team to make that happen and Major Avila is the right person for the job.”
Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX where he was commissioned into the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant. Avila Deployed with the 3rd Infantry Division to Baghdad in January of 2005. Ryan transitioned to the Army Reserves as a Captain in July of 2006. Ryan was promoted to the rank of Major in October 2012 and currently serves as a Brigade Observer Coach Trainer and Operations Officer for Alpha Branch, 2nd Brigade 75th Training Division. Ryan’s military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal with bronze OLC and several other awards.
Before joining Impact A Hero, Ryan worked with Byrne Construction beginning in 2010. In his seven plus years with Byrne, Ryan worked as a project manager where he managed over 30 million dollars in new commercial construction and renovation projects.
