Camp Impact

Camp Impact 2026 will serve 25 veteran-connected youth this year! Impact A Hero has made a legacy donation for this program to continue in 2026.

Camp Impact is a premier five-day, four-night summer youth leadership and character development experience. Hosted in partnership with the Travis Manion Foundation, this camp offers unique opportunities to develop 24-character strengths. We focus on key strengths such as Leadership, Bravery, Perseverance, Teamwork, Self-regulation, Gratitude, and Love of Learning. Each targeted character strength is paired with a specific camp activity, creating a comprehensive and engaging experience.

WHO: Camp Impact will host 25 military-connected teenagers (ages 13-16), a group that often faces numerous challenges and transitions during this stage of life. At camp, our mentors will exemplify the TMF ‘If Not Me, Then Who…’ ethos, encouraging and inspiring students to embrace and live by this principle.

HOW: Character Does Matter (CDM) – Rooted in the evidence-based field of Positive Psychology, our veteran mentors utilize a strengths-based approach to cultivate character traits in the next generation. Through a blend of informal discussions and activity-based learning, CDM Mentors foster relationships with young adults, guiding them in developing character and leadership skills. These experiences include team-building exercises, group discussions, and experiential learning challenges. As part of the program, students also commit to participating in a service project to honor the fallen.
