Impact a Hero (IAH), a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to assisting severely wounded combat veterans to live exceptional and purposeful lives, has announced the appointment of two new members to the Board of Directors, Bill Norwood and Doug Hall.

“We are extremely pleased that we have had both Bill and Doug join our Board,” offered Dan Sullenbarger, Chairman of the Impact a Hero Board. “They bring a wealth of business talent and diverse personal experience in their personal lives that will be extremely valuable to the continued success in fulfilling our mission to serve those who have given so much to protect our freedoms.”

Bill recently retired from the Texas Association of Counties after 24 years as the Manager of Employee Benefit Programs. He graduated with a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. He and his wife Janet live in Pflugerville, TX and are parents of five children and grandparents of five.

“Janet and I feel the best way to honor our son Byron (Sgt Byron Norwood, USMC) and his ultimate sacrifice on November 2004 while serving in Iraq is to devote ourselves to the welfare of those who also sacrificed and are now home dealing with combat related injuries,” Bill stated.

Doug Hall is currently Vice President of Special Projects for the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority. He has previously served as the General Manager of the Toyota Center for the Houston Rockets and as the GM of BBVA Compass Stadium for the Houston Dynamo. He most recently finished as the President/CEO of the 2016 Houston Final Four Local Organizing Committee. Doug is a graduate of Texas A&M and holds a Masters Degree in Sports Administration from Ohio University. He spent four years on active duty as a US Marine Corps Infantry Officer.

“Impact a Hero is a tremendous organization that has just scratched the surface of repaying our debt to service members and their families. I am honored to serve as a Director,” commented Doug.

Bill’s appointment on the Boars was effective March 1, 2016, and Doug’s appointment was effective July 1, 2016.
